Through the early years of my life I could never really focus or pay attention in class my mind was always wandering, creating, and dissecting the world around me. I would later find out through testing that was in fact a pretty heavy dose of ADHD/ However I hated the word disorder, the reality was I just had no interest in certain aspects of academia. the things I was interested in I would obsess over for hours learning everything I could until I was certain I knew how it worked. Later in life I began a journey to become an artist, I was told as we all were that you go to school you get a degree and you get a career so I tried. Attending the University of New Mexico I studied Fine Art and Illustration, once I went as far as that would take me I Moved to Phoenix Arizona and studied Media Arts and Animation, then Graphic Design, Computer Aided Drafting and Illustration at Glendale Community College. My desire to create eventually led me into woodworking, I only attended 1 shop class in high school but developed and improved on my skills throughout the years. but At the end of it all I had a mountain of knowledge that was just my foundation for my future. I suppose I was inspired by Renaissance artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, as well as my own ancestor don Bernardo de Miera y Pacheco, these men were artists, sculptors engineers Mathematicians scientists among many other things. Something really got me thinking I so many interests why do I need to specialize in one thing, my inability to focus wasn't a detriment it was the answer. that is where the name of my company comes from, my “Distractions” were the skills I needed. to be where I am today.
